Prior Knowledge of Mother's Ancestry
My mother, Dr. Lourdes Christopher, was born at Fort Huachuca in Arizona but she was raised in Chicago, Illinois where almost her entire family lives. She has always known that her family was Irish and Roman Catholic. She has heard vague rumors that her ancestors immigrated from Kerry and Cork in Ireland to the United States before settling in Chicago. My grandmother's grandparents on her mother's side were both first generation immigrants from Ireland who arrived around 1905. My grandmother's father supposedly had a relative who was a drummer boy in the Civil War. My mother is not sure when my grandfather's family arrived in the United States but she knows it was before my grandmother's side of the family immigrated. My mother's DNA was tested using Ancestry.com which concluded that she is 100% Irish as displayed above.

Prior Knowledge of Father's Ancestry
My father, Dr. Mehrdad Favagehi, was born in Tehran, Iran. He knows for sure that his great grandparents were also born in Tehran. Past that, he only has familial rumors. He heard from a cousin that his family was from the Caucasus Mountains near the Caspian Sea. He also heard that one of his ancestors was from southern Russia. His DNA was also analyzed using Ancestry.com which concluded that he is 88% Iranian/Persian and 12% from Turkey and the Caucasus as displayed above.

Prior Knowledge of My Dog's Ancestry
I also had my DNA tested through Ancestry.com, but unfortunately I can not remember my password. So I have decided to dedicate a small section to my dog's ancestry. She is half Shih Tzu and half Beijan Frise. Her breed is nicknamed Teddy Bear. Inspired by this project, my family ordered a DNA testing kit for dogs called Embark.
